While in Nepal, we went to visit the United Mission to Nepal offices. While we were there, we got on to the subject of computer software. They were explaining to us that microsoft software is just to expensive to be used over there (I didn’t see a single mac except for the ones taken by non-Nepalese). The picture itself tells you how expensive it is. So they use Open Office instead. i wonder how much money could be saved by Christian projects, all charities, in the UK if we made this switch? In the UMN offices, I counted at least 15 computers – there are most likely more, thats a saving of over 35.5 years GDP in Nepal………makes you think eh?
